turn heads with outstanding visual storytelling 🌴

🌴how to create emotions🎥when it comes to commercial productions, we have to create emotions “on the spot” and thats the tricky part. getting the people in front of the camera comfortable, explaining them my expectations and then seeing them performing and delivering, that holds a real challenge. the timing is usually very tight: studio and production time costly, so keeping that together without pressuring anyone, holds real value. if the pressure is to high, it won’t work. 🪐i’m always trying to create a setup or frame work, which gives the people room to act/be themselves, which makes them feel comfortable and giving me the chance to get the most authentic footage.🖼️it’s a bit like an artwork: i’m building the frame and the canvas and handing out the colors, and then leave it to other to paint the picture.🌴if you want authentic and outstanding visual for your brand, too — hit me up: h@paradise.studio

Pre-productionWhen it comes to video projects, StoryBuilt works with many different companies. And, whether this is your first experience or your 20th, there are a few things to know when you are the one in front of the camera:1. Read your emails!2. Be on time – better yet, be five minutes early.3. Come prepared. Have all items with you based on the instructions you have been given.4. Bring several wardrobe options.5. Solid colors are your friend. Patterns and graphics don’t film well.6. Pay attention. When it’s your time to be on set, make sure you are ready.7. And, if you don’t know, ASK! There is no such thing as a bad question. In the end, we want your experience to be positive and fun!

The classic charm of film, still preferred by many over digital. But can we animate 'on film'?Ok, maybe not 'on film', but can we make it look like film? And do we even want to? I'm sure you've seen the posters: Go see Oppenheimer on 70mm IMAX film! It's how it's supposed to be seen! There's a huge debate in the film industry over film vs digital. I'm a huge believer in film. It's a medium that can still capture more information than digital. You thought watching films in 4K is cool? 70mm IMAX can be equal to about 16K, even up to 18K. But the reason many prefer film is the colours, not the resolution. Film simply renders colours slightly differently. Most often you can't really describe it, but when you look at it side by side, you can feel it. There's something more pleasant about them. It's this feeling when seeing film that I also love. So, can we bring this feeling over to animation too? Will it work? Oh and how do we do it? I recently came across a piece by Oddfellows when I noticed something. They added noise (grain) and scratches that reminded me of seeing film. Adding a bit of noise has been a common technique in 2D animation for a while now, but I haven't seen scratches before. Because film is a physical medium, it can scratch, resulting in white marks that appear only for a frame here and there. This made me think if we can look into using colour palettes that would mimic a specific film stock. As well as adding elements such as grain and scratches (although the scratches are usually removed in post-production in many films).I'm afraid I don't have any definite answers here, but the goal was to mainly open a discussion. I've seen Oppenheimer in both digital and 70mm IMAX film, and I'll be going to see the 70mm film screening again. It really makes a difference. What are your thoughts on this? Can this trend be brought over to animation? And do you notice a difference when watching a film shot on film? Motion design requires a balance between discipline and an openness to the unexpected.✨ Sometimes, our best work comes when we've meticulously plotted each point and curve precisely. Other times, the greatest designs are born from serendipitous moments of inspiration sparked by an error or a random idea.🔥 Either way, embracing both ends of this spectrum—control and chaos—is crucial for any successful creative endeavor. What's your take on this? Share below.👇

There's always a way. There's always a way around a problem when it comes to signage. The problem is, will you spend the time to look for the solution or not? There has to be a way to make it work.We might have to spend more time on it, stay behind an hour, tweak some parts, and change a design, but at the end of the day, we'll get it to work. There's always a solution if you’re willing to work on the problem. What creative solution did you come up with for a difficult problem?#GTSigns#signage#problem#solution

How do you keep that creative spark in your career? It can start with a simple question:"Do I think I can do this?"Go beyond what you know you can do.Take on the work you're not so sure of.That's where you ignite old flames and some new ones. It's not in the comfy stuff you're used to,It's in the tricky spots that make you ask:"Do I still have what it takes?"Do you sometimes ask yourself that question?I do... all the time.-------P.S. In honor of lighting that spark, here's a limited edition Zippo lighter design I did for Blizzard's Diablo and Hell's Ink Tattoo Campaign.I had never done one before, and it was a challenge but well worth it.#creative #designer #gamedesign #challengeyourself
