Breaking down the matches

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn (champions) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill

This seems to be a second chance for Belair and Cargill who have been unsuccessful in trying to reclaim the Women’s Tag Team Championships. The Unholy Union’s title win at Scotland’s Clash at the Castle was a nice moment. It’s hard to see them walking out of another country with the gold.

Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest vs. Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio

This match seems more fitting for the upcoming Premium Live Event Bad Blood. But it just couldn’t wait. The Judgement Day has seen a shocking shift in power and members after the SummerSlam dual betrayal of Dominik Mysterio on Rhea Ripley, followed by Finn Balor’s turn on Damian Priest, ultimately costing him the World Heavyweight Championship.

Beside last week, the newly outcasted Terror Twins have been on the defensive against the new-look faction that has been infiltrated by WWE Champion Liv Morgan. No matter who wins, everyone wants to see Ripley get her hands on Dirty Dom.

Strap Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre

It does not get much more personal than this. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been at each other’s throats for months. This brutal stipulation could be the conclusion of a rivalry that began late last year upon Punks shocking return to the WWE. Punk screwed McIntyre out of the World Heavyweight Championship on multiple occasions, including at WrestleMania 40 and in front of his entire home country at Clash at the Castle.

Since suffering those bitter defeats, McIntyre has been heavy with the mind games, taking possession of Punk’s cherished bracelet that has the name of his wife and dog. It was the bracelet that caused the Second City Saint to lose focus at SummerSlam, and it could once again play a role in Berlin.

The way to score victory is to touch all four corners of the ring while attached to your opponent by a leather strap.

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (champion) vs. Kevin Owens

This match came about because Cody Rhodes believes that Kevin Owens’ grind through the WWE deserves another shot at the title. Owens and Rhodes are friends, but this could morph from friendly fire to a feud in a hurry. Owens has a well-documented history of stabbing his friends in the back - a lowlight reel that was displayed on a recent episode of Smackdown.

It’s also unfathomable to imagine a nearly three-year journey through the Bloodline and into glory to come crashing down in this way for the American Nightmare.

World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (champion) vs. Randy Orton

Gunther’s title reign begins in his homeland of Europe. The Austrian is fresh off his victory at SummerSlam and will be defending the title for the first time. Randy Orton is desperate to claim his 15th championship, or head to the blue brand for a fresh start. Orton lost to Gunther in a controversial finish at the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. The rematch has classic written all over it.
